Role Overview
The Field Engineer – Spatial Sensing Lab will be responsible for conducting geological and geophysical field investigations, subsurface data acquisition, geospatial surveys, and interpretation of geoscientific data to support research, consultancy, and sponsored projects.
Working closely with the Spatial Sensing Lab, researchers, project investigators, government agencies, and industry partners, the candidate will contribute to advanced geophysical investigations, geological mapping, and spatial sensing applications using modern field instrumentation and data processing techniques.
Key Responsibilities
1. Geophysical Field Surveys
- Conduct geophysical investigations using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT), Magnetometer, Electromagnetic Locator (EML), DGPS/GNSS, and other spatial sensing instruments.
- Perform geological and geophysical field surveys for infrastructure assessment, mineral exploration, groundwater investigations, environmental studies, and subsurface characterization.
- Execute survey planning, field reconnaissance, data acquisition, and quality assurance following project requirements and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure proper calibration, operation, and maintenance of geophysical instruments during field campaigns.
